(Tuesday, February 1, 2011) I was with Brinks for 14 years before adt required Brinks. It was downhill with the service. The phone representives were very rude. I decide to cancelled my service. They charge me for canceling and I was not under no contract after 14 years. My phone line had been disconnect at my request because I move to another home. After several months they still charge me for monitoring when I was not connect. They said they have know way of knowing I did not have a phone line. To me this is not good monitoring. Very poor customer service.
(Sunday, December 19, 2010) In a word: horrible. The alarm is always going off for no reason that is wht they do not call the police.
If you want to pay $200 a pop to fix formed plastic crap...go for it.
(Tuesday, December 14, 2010) provider: ADT Panama city. We had ADT installed in 2005 and had poor response times to alarms. They would call and leave voice mails on our cell phones and say you have an alarm going please call us. God forbid we would be in the house under attack. Then 11/18/2010 I called to have my service transfered and after speaking to 4 different people i was told to wait it was to early because i wanted it turned off on 12/23/2010. Called today 12/14/2010 and after speaking to 2 different people found out that i need to give a 30 day notice so now I have to pay for the final month and that i cannot do it my military husband has to do it. So my husband deployed had to find time to call and he did and asked for the waiver on teh 30 day notice and they said he would get it. But now my 45.57 a month monitoring service is 80$ to disconnect!!!! I will not ever go back to them. They no require a 36 month contract and I believe that is because there service is so crappy they can't get anyone to stay.
(Wednesday, September 8, 2010) I had ADT back in 2000 and I was pleased with them. When I moved and had them in my new home in 2004 the installation was incorrected. They brought more items then were needed, had to take out a glass breaker because it went off all of the time but they never credited me for the over $700.00 worth of items I paid for but they took back because they were not needed. On 500.00 worth of items I had the paperwork showing that I should get credited and the glass breaking monitor was supposed to be credited. I went as far up the chain of contacts and didn't get any help. The local company would never return my calls. The customer service was terrible and when my two year contract was over I put an end to it. I will never use them again. I was sorry to see Brink-Broadview now bought out by ADT what a shame.
(Thursday, June 24, 2010) After having used ADT at various addresses for many years, I have started having major problems with them. Alarms go off with no response, cannot locate your account, run around when inquiring about problems, and the list goes on and on. The last problem left me paying for one of their systems for a year only to find out that they didn't even have any record of the equipment being installed. When an alarm event occurred, they referred me to department after department, hung up on me because they couldn't give me answers and sent me to voice mailboxes that had no room to record because they were already full. And, don't try to send in a complaint to their website - you will only get an "800" number to call where you will get the run around again.
(Monday, May 10, 2010) What a P.O.S. company. After 12 years of taking our money, they want to charge $72 per window to change broken senors. The best part is the fact that the sensors only cost $1.77 each (I found them on the internet in about 10 seconds). This charge was after the sales consultant told me to sign a new 3 year contract and the total "new install" would be $89.00 for the entire system. What a bunch of liars and con artists...
(Sunday, April 4, 2010) Horrendous - and I have put up with them for years! My system chirps constantly and they refuse to tell me how to fix it since I cannot locate my password. I DID give them my alram code and one of the names I have listed as a contact. Still they will not help me. We are have to disable the system sicne we could no longer stand it. We have never been trated so poorly - they people are rude and ignorant.
(Thursday, March 4, 2010) Our Homeowners Association entered into a contract with this company to secure our clubhouse and gated pool area. They had a smooth presentation in the beginning, but as soon as the contract was signed their customer service became non-existent. They took forever to install the system that still to this day, almost a year later, still doesn't work right and they refuse to stand by their system hardware and installation. At one point, we actually started the process of reporting them to the Better Business Bureau. I would never recommend this company to anyone I know (or don't know). This is a large national company who doesn't care about the customer but rather just making a buck. Our experience has shown that you should stay far, far away from this company. We regret daily having done business with them.
